Why not?

Brian Yerkes, Owner and Creative Director of Brian Joseph Studios, posted a blog asking for the Business Cards of Bloggers. I thought it could be fun to join, even if the the best part of it, aside from the self-promo ;), will be the pleasure to peek at the ongoing gallery of logos and cards.

You have a blog and a card? Just follow the instructions and voilĂ !

Idiots

I discovered this inspirational posters serie by designer Frank Chimero on one of my favorite blog, Death by kerning. I love these posters so much, I couldn't help but share. Here's my favorite...

A question of taste

I designed a press kit for my brother's quintet. I was so excited with the first proposition I created... He wasn't. Not representative, too 80's (?) ... So I had to make something much more 'sober' and classical. The result is not bad, but I loved the first one so much (and it took me hours to make!!!).

A question of taste, he said. Of course.

Logo design of the week!

I helped Camille from Set Carré to create a fresh new look for her Etsy shop. We worked together to make this logo (and a new banner and avatar!)

You should visit her shop, she has some amazing pillows, playful patchwork bibs, colorful coasters and truly beautiful quilts.

I'll try to post my design works more often, I kinda forget about them!

Show Time

I had a small show yesterday. Maybe 10 artists, in an art gallery of Hudson, QC. Didn't sell much (was not expecting to anyway) but it was great fun. I met special people, kind people, weird people, unpleasant people. People. It felt like I've been home for 10 years. Like I was out in the 'real world' after so long. Oh, I do see friends and family on a regular basis. But it's always the same conversations, the same discourses. Kids. Weather. Yesterday was about art, passion, business. I learned about stained glass, pottery and chicken pies. I found out about a 5 days show in my own town where most artists 'make their year'. I talked about arabic language with a guy from Syria. I discussed Etsy with 2 women who are making pens out of wood. I discovered a charming area I didn't know.

I even met a woman who invited me home after the show. When she found out I was making jewelry with buttons, she offered me a huge (I mean HUGE!) box of vintage buttons. A treasury she was keeping for years - some were given to her by her mother, some by her dressmaker aunt. She was such a wonderful person and artist!

What a nice day I had.

Good Shape Design

I love posters. Wayne Pate (Good Shape Design) has some really cool ones. I picked some of them for you to see, but the whole collection is beautiful. Truly!

Why I am a designer

Love that graphic! I found it on a very interesting blog created by David Sherwin - I like all his posts about design and design-isms. Funny and so true!
