Drinkable Garden

The ball of tea my friend brought home yesterday was like these buds. Plain, uninteresting but also intriguing.

It's called blooming tea. When steeped, the hand-tied bundle expands and unfurls in a process that emulates a blooming flower. It's like a little garden unfolding in your teapot. Not only it's beautiful but the taste was surprisingly exquisite. I was expecting a bland floral taste but it was just perfect: subtle green tea characteristics with obvious floral undertones. I searched on the net for the exact blend in that particular bundle and I found out it might be jasmine, lily and amaranth. Well, that was a great tea time. Both for the tastebuds and the eyes!

salam,

Allahou Karim

salam wa rahmatullah.
